At Schwarz Produktion, we are convinced that long-term corporate success is always closely linked to social and environmental responsibility. We don’t just deliver products. We produce high-quality food for millions of people. In keeping with our sense of responsibility, sustainability has always been one of our seven corporate values and an integral part of our corporate philosophy. We deliver responsibility. For our environment, for our employees, for our customers and for society.
OUR COMMITMENT
We are making our ecological and social commitments binding and verifiable through our “Schwarz Produktion 2025” sustainability programme. This programme defines the sustainability issues that are of particular importance to our company. At the same time, we have set out eleven sustainability targets for Schwarz Produktion, with the aim of achieving them by 2025. We are actively involved in the following fields of action.
WE DELIVER RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTS
Millions of people buy our food and packaging. We take on responsibility through REset Plastic, the plastics strategy of the Schwarz Group. We contribute to the sustainable use of plastics through our recycling loop for PET single-use deposit scheme bottles. We also regularly review our products, rethink our recipes and promote conscious nutrition through our contribution to Lidl’s strategy to reduce operating emissions by 2025. When purchasing raw materials, we watch out to ensure sustainable cultivation and fair trade. We label them transparently using reputable seals.
OUR SUSTAINABILITY MANAGEMENT
The quality of our sustainability management at Solent Übach-Palenberg, Bon Gelati Übach-Palenberg, Bon Gelati Haaren, Bonback, MEG (our beverages, plastics and recycling plants in Germany) and Bon Presso is verified regularly by EcoVadis, which is one of the largest and most respected providers of corporate sustainability ratings in the world. The EcoVadis rating includes 21 sustainability criteria based on four core topics: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Our latest rating sees Solent Übach-Palenberg, Bon Gelati and Bonback receive a gold medal while MEG and Bon Presso are awarded silver.

The Schwarz Group’s sustainability report is providing an insight into its drive for sustainability. With the title “Be a Part of Our Sustainable Future”, it discloses the environmental and social impact of the company’s activities.
