Bon Presso roasts the highest quality coffee – and a lot of it. Every year, we produce over 50,000 tonnes of aromatic bean coffee in a range of different varieties. We deliver it as a whole bean or finely ground. We only process carefully selected coffee beans for our premium roasted coffee. The staff at our state-of-the-art coffee factory apply their expertise to refine them with the aid of the latest technology, ensuring a consistently high quality and that exceptional coffee experience.
Bon Presso is where modern process technology and intelligent digital solutions meet – it is the first Schwarz Produktion plant to combine the models and methods of a digital factory for its efficient production processes. One of the places where that begins is with the visualisation of KPIs on the lines. The machine data can also be evaluated in real time to predict potential faults. In the future, our team will benefit from artificial intelligence in the coffee production process.

FOR YOUR DAILY CUP OF PREMIUM ROASTED COFFEE
We source our coffee beans from South America and Asia. We use them to produce different roasts for every coffee cup and every taste – but always with the best quality. To ensure this quality, for instance, we make sure to roast the beans carefully during production. We use traditional drum roasting for our whole beans. This heats the beans evenly for an agreeable and aromatic coffee. The finished beans are packed in protective packaging with an aroma valve in a fully automated process. That keeps the aroma fresh for longer and means you always experience that delicious taste in your cup. Before it is delivered to the central Lidl and Kaufland warehouses, the packaged coffee is stored at heights of up to 40 metres in our high-bay warehouse that offers space for 52,000 pallets. ENJOY YOUR COFFEE IN GOOD CONSCIENCE
Coffee production at Bon Presso is particularly energy-efficient. The plant is an energy-efficient building according to the German KfW standard 55. It uses advanced heat recovery technology and electricity exclusively from renewable energy sources. We do everything we can to ensure that our production processes conserve resources. For instance, we preheat our raw coffee with the outgoing air from our roasting plants. The majority of the raw coffee we use comes from sustainable cultivation. The products in question bear the Rainforest Alliance quality seal on their packaging.
