As part of the companies of the Schwarz Group, we support the group-wide climate strategy. To limit global warming, we are reducing our operational greenhouse gas emissions. To achieve this, we also use energy from renewable sources.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

MEG Wörth am Rhein, as well as Bon Presso and Solent in Rheine, have their own photovoltaic systems. Their output is impressive—with a total of about 8,000 photovoltaic modules, they generate approximately 3,000 megawatt-hours of electricity each year.

MEASURABLE CLIMATE PROTECTION

To reduce our operational greenhouse gas emissions, all companies of Schwarz Produktion have been sourcing 100% electricity from renewable energy sources since the 2022 financial year (financially backed by guarantees of origin). At the Maxau Paper Mill, the transition took place in fiscal year 2024. As a result, we are reducing, among other things, our operational emissions in the Scope 1 and Scope 2* categories by 65% in the 2025 financial year (compared to FY 2019).
