TRAINING

We are investing more and more in initial training. That helps us meet our high demand for skilled workers and provides a wide range of benefits, both for our internal processes and for society. We develop our trainees in 30 different career paths and provide them with the optimum springboard for starting their careers in the food industry.

PRACTICE-BASED LEARNING

Schwarz Produktion Akademie is a vital component in the development of our employees’ competencies. It is the internal training and development centre for all our employees in Übach-Palenberg.

CUTTING-EDGE FACILITIES

Another project that is vital to securing skilled workers for Schwarz Produktion is the establishment of our cutting-edge training workshop in Übach-Palenberg, Germany. Since summer 2021, trainees have received thorough training here in technical job profiles including operating technology electronics technician, mechatronics technician or industrial mechanic.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY AFFECTS EVERYONE

To ensure every employee can work without the risk of accidents, some basic conditions, such as a high level of safety at the respective workplace, are required. We want to set new benchmarks and gradually reduce the rate of occupational accidents that require reporting. We have already achieved much: from 2017 to 2022, we managed to reduce the rate of accidents requiring reporting by an average of around 13 percent compared to the previous year. The occupational health and safety management system, which is based on ISO 45001 and implemented at every Schwarz Produktion location in Germany, is crucial to this success.

PROTECTIVE MEASURES

We can prevent accidents at work by introducing safety measures such as a lockout–tagout program for shutting down energy sources. A multitude of safety equipment and training helps our employees avoid errors and reduce the risk of accidents and injuries.

A WIDE RANGE OF HEALTHCARE OPTIONS

Our Corporate Health Management team develops comprehensive processes for maintaining and promoting the health of all our employees. We implement a variety of health measures at all our Schwarz production sites. They include free flu vaccinations, establishing company restaurants and providing regular healthcare courses.

Equal treatment

CERTIFIED CHECK

We have implemented the Gender Bias check (GB check) of the German Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency. This check confirms the high degree of gender equality already in place at Schwarz Produktion. The analysis performed also forms the basis of an action plan for further improving job postings, recruitment and promotion processes, family friendliness and more.

FAIR REMUNERATION

By applying our pay-scale, we ensure the non-discriminatory and market-based remuneration of our employees. We have voluntarily set a minimum wage that is higher than the legal minimum for many years now. For our non-pay-scale employees, we have defined a salary range to regulate gender-neutral and comparable remuneration.

WE ENABLE ACTION

We specifically foster the expertise and development of our employees with a comprehensive range of further qualifications and training courses. We work with experienced internal and external trainers in both our technical and our general training and development courses.

In addition to professional qualifications, we also place a special importance on responsible actions by our employees. With that in mind, we keep them up to date with relevant sustainability issues and their added value on a regular basis. As part of the Schwarz Group, we intend to empower and support our employees even more in the future to behave sustainably in their daily work.
