FORWARD THINKING FOR TOMORROW’S WORLD

Treating people and our resources responsibly is another vital part of our daily work when it comes to purchasing the raw materials for our food.

WE SUPPORT FAIR TRADE

Every day, we work together with our trading and business partners to make our products more sustainable. Of course, this high standard does not end at national borders. We are committed to fair business practices, good working and living conditions and environmentally friendly behaviour throughout our supply chain. We aim to meet social and environmental standards, actively promote them and prevent them from being violated.

CERTIFIED RAW MATERIALS

We pay special attention to the origin of raw materials such as cocoa, palm oil, coffee and tea concentrates and to the working conditions during their cultivation and further processing. We use only cocoa that comes from sustainable cultivation for our chocolates, baked goods and ice cream products.

TRANSPARENCY IN THE CREATION OF VALUE

Certifications help make supply chains transparent and improve the social and environmental conditions of cocoa farmers.

0%
of our raw materials that contain cocoa are certified according to recognised sustainability standards.

All Schwarz Produktion companies that process raw materials containing palm oil are certified according to the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) standard. The aim of this organisation is to promote sustainable cultivation methods for palm oil.

We are also using more and more raw materials with sustainability certification in MEG beverages. For instance, we use tea extract with Rainforest Alliance certification.

We mark the certified raw materials on our packaging with the following sustainability seals. They provide guidance for the consumer and confirm our high product and quality standards.

RSPO CERTIFICATION

The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) was launched by the WWF in 2004. It brings farmers, traders and producers who extract or process palm oil together to promote compliance with established minimum standards. The RSPO certification is an internationally recognised symbol that identifies products with palm oil from sustainable cultivation.
